Jason's Story
Jason spent his youthful years on the rough streets of St. Louis, MO, and only in early adulthood found the peace of nature. After nearly ordaining as a Buddhist monk at 19 he learned about permaculture and went to college for ecological design. For more than twenty years Jason has been professionally immersed in the regenerative design world with a focus on ecological education and eco-agricultural systems design. He is the President of the Permaculture Institute Inc. and founded his design company Real Earth Design in 2008. He continues to work to transform land and life systems all over the country through his work. -
Sarah's Story
Sarah grew up in the Adirondacks fostering a deep connection to the natural world. After graduating high school she started an organization focused on environmental education in which she realized healing the earth means also healing ourselves. This led her to study ecological design and yoga at Naropa University in Boulder, CO. Over the last decade she’s worked on various sustainable agriculture projects with a focus on human-scale vegetable farming/gardening, education, and perennial gardens. She’s also been a prolific yoga teacher, leading mindful living retreats, classes, and workshops through Sarah Living Yoga. -
Our Story
We met over eleven years ago in the farming community in Boulder, CO. We became friends by bonding over a mutual love of the natural world. After a couple of years working in a greenhouse together, we fell in love. We share a deep bond that’s glued together by meditation practice and nature immersion. We’re committed to living a regenerative life that helps grow land and life systems beyond their present capacity. We’re thrilled to start this next chapter where we’re building a straw bale home, starting a farm business, and cultivating a life-long relationship with this wonderful patch of land now called Earth Tender Farm.
